INDIANAPOLIS –

The Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo returns to the Indiana State Fairgrounds February 17-19, opening weekend of the 58th annual Ford, Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show – the largest outdoor show of its kind in the U.S.A.

At over 70,000 square-feet, the 15th installment of the Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo promises to be bigger and better than ever, serving the passionate, diehard hunter’s needs, as well as those of the individual or family who may simply be looking for information on how to get started in the traditional outdoor sports.

Exciting features and seminars from the nation’s top hunting experts, plus hands-on access to the latest hunting products are the hallmarks of this unique event.  In addition to an all new indoor Manufacturer’s Archery Demo Lane, deer scoring extravaganza courtesy of the Indiana Deer Hunters Association, gun dog demonstrations, Hoosier Record Book Trophy Deer Display and hundreds of hunting exhibitors from around North America, marquis features of this year’s Expo include the Big Tine Hunting Seminar Series and the Indiana Waterfowl Calling Championships.

“The Big Tine Hunting Seminar Series puts show attendees into direct contact with the foremost hunting experts in the world”, says show organizer Kevin Renfro.  Indeed, in addition to turkey hunting expert Bill Epeards, renown Alaskan hunting guide Billy Molls, whitetail wonder-couple Brian and Tara Seiler and others, this year’s Big Tine Hunting Seminar Series will be headlined by well-known big game hunter and outdoor producer Tom Miranda, who’s award-winning TV series have appeared on ESPN and other networks for over 20 consecutive seasons.  “People recognize Tom as a superstar from his current Territories Wild TV show and the numerous other series he’s produced over the years”, says Renfro.  “But many don’t know he’s a lifelong outdoorsman who came from very humble beginnings…  in addition to possessing tremendous knowledge and experience, Tom is a salt-of-the-earth guy who relates to all of us”, Renfro continues.

Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo attendees will have plenty to do and see in between this year’s seminars.  Ducks Unlimited is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2012 with a variety of special programs and events, and will once again sponsor the Indiana Waterfowl Calling Championships at this year’s Expo.  With divisions for kids and adults, amateurs and hard-core callers alike can have fun and win big prizes at this year’s competition, which also serves as the Indiana qualifier for the World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest — the world’s premier duck calling competition — to be held later this year in Stuttgart, AR.  The Expo also hosts the only goose calling contest in the state.

“You can read as many hunting magazines and watch as many hunting shows on TV as you want”, says James Morgan, a deer and turkey hunter from Fort Wayne who has been attending the expo since 2006, “but you’ll never find as much useful information in any other single place than the Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo”, he continues.  “I won’t miss it”.

Renfro relates to Morgan’s sentiments.  “The Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo offers something for anyone who hunts or ever thought about getting into hunting”, he says.  “Personally, some of the most-memorable outdoor experiences I’ve shared in the field with my son Mitch can be linked back to someone I met or something we learned at the Expo”, Renfro continues.

From food plots and field-dressing to tree stands and trail cams, the 15th annual Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo is the one place to go to get your hunt on, no matter what kind of camo you wear.  And don’t forget that a single ticket gets you into both the Indiana Deer, Turkey and Waterfowl Expo and the larger Ford, Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show.

Beginning Monday, January 23rd, adults save $2 on admission when they purchase Advance Sale tickets to the Ford Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show at Marsh Supermarkets.  For the latest show features, seminar schedules and information, or to purchase tickets online, go to www.indysportshow.com.
